Feeling you! I’m in a “moving country post-divorce transition” and it recently occurred to me it’s probably gonna take 3-5 years, not the 12-18 months it’s been, ha. At first that felt awful to realise but now I’m okay with it; it helps me feel more grace and compassion on the very messy days. Thanks for showing up just as you are!

You've got a multi-transition, transition happening for you! More grace and compassion is definitely what's needed - for you, for me, for all of us. Thank you for seeing me. 🌹

I can hear you talking through this post, that's what I love about your writing. This piece spoke to me on so many levels, you know life is messy for me too at the moment but I like Sharon's comment saying "life's an adventure" - I feel like that resonates more than a "journey".

Here's to the next adventure xxx

Another beautiful and relatable piece Sonia, thank you for so perfectly articulating what I and it feels like the rest of the world is feeling right now. "Life is a journey" has always felt patronising to me until recently when I have been trying really hard to reframe the stress, the hard days of grief, trauma, menopause and severe anxiety into "Life is an adventure" instead because it reminds me what a privilege it is to age through the seasons through the ups and downs of life and that everyday we have choices about how and with whom we get to spend our 1 precious life which feels empowering to me and seems to help, not all of the time but sometimes. I also now know they were onto something when those old adage's like "you can't have sunshine without rain" and "this too shall pass" were first coined because life really is a rollercoaster and that can either be terrifying or exciting depending on how you frame it right? Thank you so much again, I feel seen and I hope todays adventures bring you great joy and excitement amongst the murkiness of the in-between. Sharon x

Sharon - this comment, oh my heart... THANK YOU. 💗 I agree that knowing we are not alone in what we're navigating is one of the most helpful things to hear, and also I absolutely adore your reframe that "Life is an adventure". It speaks so beautifully to the fact that life is not all smooth paths and sunny days, but "a risky undertaking of an unknown outcome. An exciting or unexpected event or course of events." (according to the online definition of 'adventure'). And there's something to really love and appreciate about that; a relief knowing it's not meant to always be perfect. x
